Unfortunately, there’s no free upgrade option for either platform.

For both platforms, previous-gen players can perform a one-time migration for Story Mode progress and GTA Online characters and progression. The former is discounted by 75 percent and once the three month discount period has ended, GTA Online on PS5 will cost $20 as well.

According to the Xbox Store, the Xbox Series X/S version of Grand Theft Auto 5 costs $20 while Grand Theft Auto Online costs $10, resulting in a 50 percent discount for both.įor PS5 players, Grand Theft Auto 5 costs $10 at launch while Grand Theft Auto Online is free (screenshots from US PlayStation Store listings can be seen below).
